CSC Upward Bound cavalry riders in the Crazy Horse pageant, 1968.
The pageant was staged for three years. The Upward Bound program had a number of Native American students, and they took roles as “Indians” in the pageant, complete with traditional clothing. Jim McCafferty, former program director wrote in the program newsletter a humorous description of the mishaps of staging the pageant including some of the actors having trouble staying on their horses.
